Applications are invited for the position of Prestbury Parish Council Clerk
This is an interesting and varied part-time post, working predominantly flexible hours from home, and offering the chance to enable our team of Parish Councillors to deliver real benefits to the community.
The Council meet on one evening per month, and there are planning meetings held once every three weeks, a finance meeting held once a quarter and an annual Parish meeting, all of which the Clerk will be required to attend and minute. Outside of these meetings, working hours are flexible and will be discussed during the interview process and agreed upon appointment.
The successful applicant will be computer literate and self-reliant, preferably with some knowledge of local government procedures and basic book-keeping skills. Duties will include general administrative duties, organisation of village events, telephone and written communications including social media and website, and the management of various Council projects from time to time. Training in all aspects of the role will be provided if required.
The Clerk will also be required to liaise with Cheshire East Council, other organisations and the general public.
Hours: Flexible but with a maximum of 18 hours per week
Salary: £10.30 – £12.01 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
